Why Emergency Care Training Matters Most

When I reflect on what I do every day in my career, I know that my role at HSI has meaning. I have the opportunity to work with customers who have dedicated themselves to teaching others how to save lives.

Often, I have the pleasure to speak with an Instructor who tells me about a student who has saved a life because of an ASHI or MEDIC First Aid class. When I walk away from my desk at the end of the day, I know that my actions, no matter how big or small, have impacted a survivor, a rescuer, or educator in the very act that helped save the life of another human being.  That is an amazing feeling.

Last fall I traveled through Florida with a film crew, to meet with students and Instructors. From the very first session, I heard some of the most amazing stories of rescues that literally brought me to tears. For the rest of the trip, I made sure I brought Kleenex.

Here’s just a sample of the sort of inspiring stories our wonderful Instructors and students shared.

If you know of any Good Samaritan stories I encourage you complete our nomination form, we will then send the Nominee a special award certificate in recognition of their efforts.
