New Regulations:

California
Regulations have been updated regarding Shipyard First Aid Personnel. At least one person trained in CPR and First Aid must be on site at all times. AHA, ARC or equivalent training allowed.

Illinois
Critical Care Transport Personnel are now required to be certified in ACLS and PALS. Training entity not defined or restricted.

Indiana
Emergency regulations have been adopted regarding event physicians at boxing or mixed martial arts events. Must have proof of current ACLS certification. Training entity not defined or restricted.

Minnesota
Dental Therapists must now have the same certification as all other Dental Professionals including Professional level CPR certification. No restriction placed on training entity.

Mississippi
Regulations have been updated for Dispatchers of Police, Fire and Medical Services. Equivalency language has been added for CPR certification. AHA, ARC or equivalent CPR courses now accepted.

Oregon
Massage Therapists are now required to have current CPR certification for initial application licensure or a lapsed re-licensure. No restriction placed on training entity.

New approvals gained:

Colorado
ASHI Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder courses have been approved by the Department of Human Services for Day and Resident Camp Staff requirements.

Ohio

The Board of Transportation reviewed ASHI Basic First Aid and MEDIC BasicPlus at 2011 board meeting. Courses were approved by board for satisfying the certification requirements of Ambulance Drivers and Attendants.

Pennsylvania
The Bureau of Mine Safety has reviewed and approved ASHI Basic First Aid and CPR & AED courses. Mine Employees may now use ASHI courses to satisfy their certification requirements.

New Regulations:

Illinois
IL 14815 2011 - New regulation now requires stretcher van personnel to have BLS certification. No restriction placed on training entity.

Mississippi

MS 12796 2011 - New regulation for law enforcement personnel requires a total of 14hrs of training in FA, CPR, and BBP. No restriction placed on training entity.

Mississippi
MS 12404 2010 - New regulation now requires staffers who work with medically fragile children to be first aid and CPR trained by a certified instructor. No restriction placed on training entity.

Mississippi
MS 12410 2010 - New regulation now requires all staff in wilderness programs to be trained in CPR and FA. No restriction placed on training entity.

Virginia

VA 102130 2009 - New regulation for Radiologist Assistants now requires ACLS certification. No restriction placed on training entity.

Wyoming
WY 5205 2010 - New regulation now requires Athletic Trainers to be BLS certified. No restriction placed on training entity.

New Approvals gained:

California
Orange County EMS – After submitting our program for review, ASHI CPR Pro has been approved based on ASHI CECBEMS approval. ASHI CPR Pro is approved for initial and renewal certification.

Florida
Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) has approved ASHI and MEDIC First Aid basic CPR and BBP courses. These courses meet current training requirements for employees.

Georgia
Construction Workers are required for fulfill 8 hours of CE every 2 years as stated by the Construction Industries Board. ASHI and MEDIC First Aid CPR and First Aid courses are approved to meet this continuing education requirement.

Maryland
After submitting ASHI and MEDIC First Aid basic CPR and First Aid courses for review, the Deputy Director of the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene, stated these programs meets the intent of the regulations and can be used for certification of personnel working with Elderly and adults with medical disabilities.

Missouri
After submitting ASHI CPR Pro and ACLS courses for review by the Missouri Dental Board, they were approved. The Dental Board has also voted to adopted new language into its renewal rule.

Approval Changes:

California
EMSA has reapproved ASHI Basic First Aid and CPR and AED for the use of child care providers until August 2013

New Jersey
ASHI CPR Pro and ACLS has been reapproved by the New Jersey Dental Board until September 2013

New Mexico

The New Mexico Dental Board has adopted ASHI into the dental rules as an approved training provider.

Until our revised G2010 MEDIC First Aid PediatricPlus program can be review by the Louisiana State Bureau of Emergency Medical Services in March of 2012:   Effective September 1, 2011: MEDIC First Aid Pediatric programs can not be used to train child care providers.
