Michael D. arrived at a customer's home to work on the electric meter. He knocked on the door and did not receive a response. While Michael D. was walking to the meter he heard a faint cry from inside the house. Finding an open window, he called out to see if the cry came from inside the house. An elderly woman answered stating that she had fallen and could not get up. Since Michael could not see the woman from the window he proceeded back to the front door, finding it unlocked he entered the home and found the elderly woman lying on the floor by her hospital bed. She stated she was injured and needed help. Michael conducted an initial assessment and called for EMS via the company emergency radio system. Michael then moved his truck to the end of the customer's long rural driveway and turned on his emergency beacon to assist EMS in locating the house. He then returned and provided care for the elderly woman until EMS arrived and took over.
