Eighth Grader Saves Teammate’s Life Just One Day after CPR Training

Softball Team in North CarolinaA heartfelt “job well done” to Taylor Bisbee of High Point, NC, for calling on her emergency care training when her teammate Paris White collapsed during softball practice.

This past April, Taylor and Paris had taken a mandatory CPR class at the Wesleyan Christian Academy. The very next day, the incident occurred on the field. While Taylor performed CPR, an automated external defibrillator (AED) was brought from the school and used to shock Paris’s heart prior to the arrival of EMS.

Here’s the story video from local media outlet Fox affiliate WGHP:

Taylor was inspired by the event and is now considering a career in medicine, perhaps as a paramedic. All of us at HSI send Taylor a big “You go, girl!”

Taylor Bisbee you rock. Without your fast thinking and actions the outcome could have been different.
This goes to show that no matter how old you are you can make a difference.
IF your young and do not have the strength to do compression grab a bystander and show them what to do.
Taylor Bisbee GREAT JOB!!!
